At one time this was THE software to have. They were leading
the way and running strong. Unfortunately now at this time,
DVDXPlatinum has not
been updated in a couple of years, so the possibilities don't look so
good, especially when compared to
DVDneXtCopy
which updates their software very often to accommodate for new encryption technologies
allowing you to copy even the latest dvd movie releases.

Ease of use:
For the beginner, DVDxPlatinum offers a simple mode allows
you to copy everything on the original disc, including menus,
chapters, and all or you can choose to copy only the movie itself
with only one click of the mouse. Very Simple & the quality
is Perfect!
DVDxPlatinum also offers an advance mode which allows you to choose which
titles you want to backup, which ones you want to leave out, and allows for scene by scene control
over compression allowing you to fit even the longest movies onto
a single disc. It even comes with a preview feature so you can see
how various compression percentages will look before you burn
them.
Quality:
DVDxPlatinum produces
great quality copies everytime. We couldn't tell the difference
between the original and the copies that we made with DVD x Platinum. Very Nice!
Upgrades and Updates:
DVDxPlatinum claims to offer free lifetime upgrades and
updates, but in truth DVDXPlatinum has not
been updated in over a year, so the possibilities don't look so
good, especially when compared to DVDneXtCopy
which updates their software very often to accommodate for new encryption technologies
allowing you to copy even the latest dvd movie releases.
Support:
Support offered by DVDxSoftware, the makers of DVDxPlatinum is not very good... their
support is provided by email in which they are very slow to
respond.

Overall:
At one time DVD X Platinum was the top of the line
offering features that no other software was able to contend
with. But in the last couple of years they have really fell
off the map.
If you buy the software, then you are left with no
support and it is never updated to keep up with the changes
in the encryption methods which really means that you're
going to run across quite a bit of movies that the product
will not copy.
